The London Pro Musica Choir presents Texture: Beauty for Dark Times, a concert of a cappella works by Palestrina and Bruckner, at 7:30 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025, St. James Westminster Church in London, Ontario. We are led by Artistic Director Paul Grambo.

The program features Missa Papae Marcelli by sixteenth-century Italian composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594). Palestrina wrote this intricate, exquisite work in defiance of a papal edict demanding that all sacred music be simple and stark. Our program also incorporates works by nineteenth-century Austrian composer Anton Bruckner (1824-1896). Although Bruckner lived 300 years later, his music echoes Palestrina’s influence and style.

With this unaccompanied, a cappella program, we, like Palestrina, defend the need for beauty in dark times. I hope you can join us for this compelling concert.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. They can be ordered online at the choir’s website.
