Hello, this is Lambert Zuidervaart (pronounced ZUY-der-vart).
I am an author, teacher, dog lover, and singer who pursues socially engaged philosophy with a human heart.
I’m based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but I have also lived in Toronto, Berlin, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Edmonton, and north-central California, where I grew up.
After teaching philosophy for 35 years, I have settled into being a full-time writer, musician, and public speaker. My interests range across knowledge, politics, the arts, religion, and social critique. My most recent books and articles propose a new conception of truth for an allegedly post-truth society. I have also written two literary memoirs to honor dear canine friends. I’m currently asking what the world’s religions can offer for an Earth-sustaining and life-giving global ethic. My latest reflections about philosophy, life, and society appear in my Love [of] Wisdom blog. I welcome your comments!
